blank

What You’ll Need:

  • Your kite flying line (with or without a pre-tied loop)
  • The bridle loop or attachment point on your kite

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • Fold about 10–15 cm of the line back onto itself.
  • Tie an overhand knot to create a small loop.
  • Pull tight to secure.
  • Pinch the loop and fold it in half to create a smaller double loop (like a teardrop).
  • This is now your Lark’s Head loop.
  • Slide the folded loop behind the bridle point or attachment loop on the kite.
  • Pull the rest of the loop over the bridle point and tighten.
  • The knot should cinch snugly around the bridle, holding it securely.

Why Use a Lark’s Head?

  • Quick and easy to tie and untie
  • Secure under tension but easy to release
  • Ideal for single-line kites and adjustable bridles
