Alpine MDF

Our supplier for MDF materials

Alpine MDF Industries is one of Australia’s most respected manufacturers of premium pine‑based MDF, and we’re proud to partner with a company whose values align so closely with our own. Based in Wangaratta in North‑East Victoria, Alpine MDF has built a reputation for exceptional product consistency, reliable supply, and a commitment to sustainable timber resource management. Their MDF is known across the industry for its smooth finish, structural stability, and dependable quality — all essential qualities for the precision‑cut components used in our wooden model kits.

A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available on our website for any questions our chemicals, first aid or safety with this product.

Are age and skill recommendations strict?

We provide age and skill recommendations, but they are a guide only. Different people with different skills and abilities will be able to use the models and kites at their own discretion.

Are assembly guides and resources available online?

We will provide assembly guides and resources online if requested by the customer.

Are there any regulations or restrictions for flying outdoor kites?

Australia aviation authorities have restrictions on height and acceptable use of outdoor kites (e.g., cannot fly above 110m, not near airfields, and not near any people who might be disturbed). Check requirements in your area.

Can the MDF and 3D printed parts be customized or painted?

Yes, MDF and 3D-printed parts are easy to paint and customizable. If they are glued together, they can be made more permanent.

Customer Support

At Kitsune Toys, we want every building experience to be fun, smooth, and frustration‑free. Whether you're assembling one of our wooden model kits, exploring our mechanical puzzles, or looking for product details before you buy, this support hub is your go‑to place for answers.

You’ll find quick access to our FAQ Library, covering everything from assembly tips and replacement parts to shipping, returns, and product care. If you're building a model and need help, our Assembly Support section includes step‑by‑step guides, troubleshooting advice, and links to video tutorials for selected kits.

For order‑related questions, our Shipping & Returns area explains delivery times, tracking, and how to request a return or exchange. If you need personalised assistance, you can reach our team directly through the Contact Support page — we’re always happy to help with missing pieces, product recommendations, or anything else you need.

Do kites come with flying lines?

All kites have either 100m or 30m lines included.

Do the model kits require glue?

Kits generally don't need glue; they have interlocking parts that are precut to fit, though some models will need glue.

Do you attend markets or physical events?

We can attend markets and events from time to time, but we have to plan ahead for these events.

Do you encourage engagement on social media?

We would be really appreciative if people shared and engaged with our posts.

Do you offer gift options or personalization?

We can provide personalised messages, gift boxing, and other opportunities. Reach out to us to discuss.

Do you offer wholesale opportunities?

We have plans to offer wholesale opportunities in the future, but we have lots to plan before then.

Do you provide help with building and assembling models?

Yes, we will respond to questions about the building and assembly of models. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Do you ship internationally?

We will ship to any country worldwide; however, some countries may have customs restrictions on wood and plastics, and we cannot place any guarantee on customs clearance into every country.

High As A Kite

Our preferred supplier for outdoor kites, flyers and accessories.

High As A Kite is a dedicated Australian wholesaler supplying high‑quality kites, wind toys, and windvanes to retailers across Australia and New Zealand. Known for bright, durable, family‑friendly designs, the company focuses on recapturing the joy of traditional outdoor play with products that are guaranteed to fly and built to last.

How do product returns work logistically?

Customers will need to return the product. We will cover or provide the return costs, but we prefer to replace parts where we can.

How long does order processing and shipping take?

We process orders in 1-2 days for shipment if we have stock. Some products are on backorder and we will print on demand within 5 days. Customers will be notified of the time to shipment if print on demand.

How often do you post on social media?

We try to post a few times a week.

International Shipping and Customs

Because Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) is manufactured using high heat, pressure, and synthetic resins that eliminate live pests and raw wood grain, many major customs authorities classify it as a manufactured or reconstituted wood product rather than raw timber. This generally exempts it from strict raw-wood pest regulations (such as ISPM 15 phytosanitary treatment certificates required for solid timber packaging).

Countries and economic regions that widely accept MDF through international customs include:

  • United States: Treats MDF as a manufactured composite wood product, though commercial importers must ensure compliance with formaldehyde emission standards (such as TSCA Title VI documentation).

  • European Union (EU): Member nations generally permit MDF without raw timber restrictions, provided the products comply with EU timber regulations and environmental/chemical safety standards (like REACH).

  • United Kingdom: Aligns closely with manufactured panel standards, allowing MDF entry without raw wood quarantine treatments.

  • Canada: Categorizes MDF as a processed composite panel, exempting it from the strict phytosanitary rules governing raw logs and untreated lumber.

  • Australia: Specifically exempts reconstituted and manufactured wood products like MDF, particleboard, and hardboard from standard timber treatment rules, provided they are free from contamination.

  • Japan: One of the world's largest importers of MDF, accepting manufactured wood panels under standard commercial customs protocols.

Note: While customs agencies typically do not block MDF over biosecurity or pest concerns, shipments may still require standard commercial documentation (like commercial invoices, bills of lading, and proof of chemical emission compliance like CARB or TSCA).

Is tracking available for parcels?

Australia Post will provide tracking and notifications on all parcels.

Jaycar Electronics

Our supplier for 3D filament and printing materials.

Jaycar is a well‑known Australian electronics retailer that also serves as a convenient supplier for hobby‑grade 3D printing materials and accessories. While they’re not a specialist 3D‑printing store, Jaycar stocks a practical range of essentials — including PLA and ABS filament, small tools, soldering gear, adhesives, wiring, and electronic components that makers often need when assembling or modifying 3D‑printed projects. Their nationwide store network makes it easy for builders to grab supplies locally, and their catalogue supports beginners and hobbyists who want accessible, off‑the‑shelf materials without waiting for online orders. This makes Jaycar a reliable, everyday source for the basic consumables and electronics that complement 3D printing workflows.

Our Safety

All of our MDF components are made from premium Alpine MDF, and we follow the safety guidance provided in Alpine’s official Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

This document outlines important information about safe handling, dust control, personal protective equipment, and fire precautions when working with MDF. We make the MSDS available to all customers so you can build with confidence, knowing you have clear, reliable safety information whenever you need it.

Our Story

Kitsune Toys began with a simple idea — that building something with your own hands should feel magical. What started as a small home project crafting wooden puzzles has grown into an Australian brand dedicated to creativity, craftsmanship, and the joy of making.

From our first hand‑cut prototypes to today’s precision‑engineered kits, every design reflects our love for detail and quality. We source sustainable materials, refine each component for perfect fit, and package our kits so that every builder — from curious beginner to seasoned maker — can experience the satisfaction of creating something beautiful.

Our name, Kitsune, embodies imagination and transformation. It reminds us that every project is more than wood and gears — it’s a story waiting to unfold. Whether you’re building for relaxation, display, or discovery, we’re here to inspire that spark of creativity that turns a pile of parts into something extraordinary.
